Once popular but now extinct. Popcorn ceilings were the trend through the 50s and 60s. but in 1990 the EPA have ruled out acoustic ceilings due to asbestos. You popcorn ceilings can be heavily filled with cobb webs and dust over time. Doing the job yourself can lead to major health concerns if not prepped and done properly. Generation Painting is highly experienced in removing popcorn ceilings in an effective way.

Start

Prep is the most important. We move most furniture and then double cover everything else. Its very important to us to not leave any openings for debris to get through.

Removal

Painted or not. Spraying the ceiling with water is the most effective way in bringing down the popcorn. It also limits dust from flying around the room. We then skim coat any damaged areas or flaws before sanding.

Texture and Paint

We then spray any texture that you like using our hopper. Once it dries we then primer and then recheck for any areas that need more texture. Once everything is ready. We then apply a coat of primer and then 2 coats of ceiling paint.
